Jesus still calls and equips us to share the good news of Jesus just as He did with the women at the tomb! The power of the gospel rests not on the skills or gender of people, but entirely in the message that Christ died on the cross and rose from the dead!

Let’s take COURAGE from these women who wasted no time after hearing, they immediately believed, and then ran to tell the disciples who did not believe their “idle tale” even though Jesus had risen “just as He said.” When we have the best news ever to share, how can we not do the same?

No matter how dark or hopeless things seem, we have the hope of a living and risen Savior!He has conquered sin and death, restoring and securing our relationship with God- not based on anything we could ever do, but solely on what He did by dying on the cross and rising from the dead. Hey mamas! I’m taking a short break from running the Agape Moms blog and socials to focus on what God has placed before me in face to face ministry with Agape Moms, training women to start Agape Moms, other exciting things in the season of preparation and of course my family, which is always #1.

I think it’s important to learn to say “no” to what we need to say no to, in order to say “yes” to what God is calling us to. Lots of times the “no’s” are GOOD things too. I’m learning to make sure the love of God and others, not the fear of man or just desiring to do it all is what motivates my yes and my no.

I wasn’t even going to post this announcement, but then I thought that somebody else might need to hear this too. The holy “no” is an important spiritual discipline. God’s best for us isn’t running so hard in every direction, always needing to do or be more things, this will burn us out and never quench the God-shaped hole that only JESUS can fill, not personal achievement, or never being able to say no.

Happy International Women’s Day! I am cherishing these early years and moments with my girls. Today it was them choosing to match and having a tea party. I love how girly my little ladies are, but also love that their identities aren’t limited to princess parties and outward beauty. I LOVE this orphan vs. son/daughter chart from one of my favorite group studies “The Gospel Centered Life” by Thune & Walker. I have returned to this often because I realize a lot of my issues & struggles stem from an identity issue- I’m forgetting who I am in Christ. Being adopted into God’s family because of Jesus, something we can never earn or lose, is life altering!

This week as we focus on adoption and the call of the church to take up the cause, I hope you’ll see the gospel connection. We aren’t called to adopt because we should try harder to be better Christians, we’re called to rise to remedy the crisis because it’s a reflection of WHO WE ARE in Christ. When we were far off, desperate and hopeless, Christ swooped down and rescued us!

Agape Moms’ gospel-centered resource recommendation this week is The Jesus Bible. First of all, the Bible alone should always be the first resource we run to above any author. Sometimes it’s inspiring to read other people’s stories about how God has inspired them to do things for Him, but the most important story for each of us is engaging in the story God is inviting us to write with Him. This starts by really getting into His Word, and not just reading it for knowledge’s sake but obeying Christ and living it!

I’ve loved adding this Bible to my collection of study Bibles. It connects Jesus on every single page and I’ve really enjoyed the commentary, especially in the OT, connecting everything back to Christ. Each book of the Bible also has a Christ-Centered sub-title (see second pic.) If you’re desiring God to do something NEW in your heart and life as we’ve been focusing on this week, then commit to a time of the day and root yourself in His OLD and timeless Word.

We had an awesome Agape Moms Tehaleh Info Party last night! I’m so excited to see God bringing women together in a way that only He can. Last night I shared about what Agape Moms is, and how women can get involved by joining a servant leadership team and help us launch, and it was so neat to have moms plug in their gifts in our family!

Our theme this week is “see I am doing a new thing” and then, boom, this memory popped up in my Facebook. It’s an explanation of Agape Moms’s #bringyourmess and it was just ONE year ago! It was an opportunity to see the new things God has done in just one year.

Since exactly one year ago, I’ve moved to WA, then launched our website and socials 6 months ago, and now we have four groups actively training to start Agape Moms in Spokane- WA, Terre Haute-IN, EL Campo-TX and Bonney Lake-WA. The original Agape Moms in Lithia also launched a new group in Valrico in January, and has doubled their size and leaders who are making disciples as they live on mission in everyday, messy mom-life. God is so incredible!

As this memory popped up, I am setting up for the Agape Moms Tehaleh Info party I’m hosting tomorrow, and we have over 20 moms coming and 35 already in the group. You guys, this is crazy. Only God can do this, I have only been in my neighborhood since Thanksgiving! There are more groups in the pre-training phase, including one in AUSTRALIA that began their pre-training registration process this week.

Some of us need to be reminded of God’s unchanging character today in an ever changing world. God is our creator, has and always will be, and He didn’t give up on His creation when things went south and sin entered. He sees our tendency to sin, he sees the way it messes with each other, and instead of wiping his hands and abandoning us, throughout scripture he continues to make a way for us and the plan was always to come down in the flesh and rescue us.

I think some of us need to be reminded of this today, because life can be HARD. Things go wrong, life isn’t fair, people hurt us, plans fail us, and we make plenty of mistakes ourselves too. When you’re feeling like hope is lost, open God’s word. Look at all the times God did the impossible and brought good out of evil.
